5 years already?!? We had only moved to Florida a few months prior, as soon as Daxx was diagnosed, so we hardly knew anyone.
I remember standing in that dirt lot with a couple family members and even fewer staff from his school. The event has almost doubled every year since and we're over 100 people now!
Last year we turned our 5K into a blindness experience with stations like braille, walking blindfolded with a cane, and playing goal ball. So fun and informative! We will be repeating the experience aspect again this year, but rgistration is not open yet as I am working to secure an indoors location so we aren't melting in the Florida heat.
In the meantime I'll open up shirts for presale so I can get them knocked out since I make them myself and that takes time.
This year's shirt was designed to be personal to Daxx. He loves Legos so much and spends almost every free moment building. He wants to be a Lego Master Builder when he grows up.
